The Boston Celtics are one win away from the 2024 NBA title after holding off a furious Dallas Mavericks comeback attempt in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. The Celtics led by as many as 20 points in the second half, but the Mavericks rallied to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining. Jayson Tatum hit a clutch three-pointer to put the Celtics back in front, and Marcus Smart sealed the victory with a pair of free throws. Tatum led the Celtics with 30 points, followed by Jaylen Brown with 23 points and Smart with 19 points. Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 26 points, followed by Spencer Dinwiddie with 21 points and Dorian Finney-Smith with 19 points. The Celtics can clinch the title in Game 7 at home on Thursday night. The Mavericks will need to win Game 7 to force a Game 8.
